Good hotel, great location in Century City
I've stayed at this Intercontinental for years, as it's an 8-minute walk to my office and a 10-minute walk to the Westfield mall, which was upgraded over the last couple years. The hotel also recently underwent an upgrade. I generally care only about the location, bed, and fitness center. Location: perfect for my needs, although a bit far from Beverly Hills if that's your thing. Bed: excellent mattress, good sheets, I slept great. Fitness center: recently upgraded with LifeFitness machines. I'm thankful it's not Techno-gym, which seems ubiquitous lately in business hotels and which I don't particularly care for. The facility is still on the small side, although it's well equipped and I can get a full workout. More floor space than before, which is terrific, although at the expense of a couple machines I used (leg press, for example). But the additional floor space is worth it and the floor has been redone in those rubbery squares, which is great. The gym could use a few more long/yoga mats; there was only one longer mat, the rest were shorter. But I was able to use the long mat each day when I needed it; I just worry that someone else might have wanted it during that time (I was going a 30-minute yoga routine on the pool deck). The service overall was outstanding - as you'd expect from an Intercontinental. Overall I'd highly recommend it if you're going to be in or near Century City
I've stayed here three times in the past few years and always found it to be a very reliable property with good service and great rooms. I'm often upgraded to a suite when booking through credit card packages, and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable with great views of the studio lot and ocean or the Hollywood hills. The amenities on the property itself are great with a nice but never crowded pool and hot tub deck, which offers low key but prompt food and drink service as well as a great workout facility with above average locker rooms featuring great showers and even a steam room. The breakfast buffet and bar in the lobby also offer quite a spread across multiple cuisines as well as great value overall with happy hour and other specials that really work well. Staff here as well as throughout the hotel is always good but tends to never really wow or go above and beyond Note that like in a lot of places in LA, parking can be very expensive, so it may be worth just arriving in a car service and using the hotel car for dinner out, whether you trek either to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood or further west towards Westwood and Santa Monica. Overall, really enjoy the options this property provides and highly recommend it for a great value in combination with your Amex or Chase card package
I stayed one night. The rooms were very clean and the property is beautiful and well kept. They have a nice gym and steam room. Hotel location is great within a short drive to Beverly Hill, West Hollywood, and Hollywood. Very professional service
